The RFP is a document that solicits a proposal. It often forms part of a bidding process by a company interested in the procurement of the IT Cabling Infrastructure or Network. It may form part of a specialist sub-package of another contractor such as Mechanical and Electrical or Electrical contractors. It goes to potential suppliers to submit business proposals. It is submitted early in the procurement cycle, either at the preliminary study, or procurement stage. An RFP may in itself already include detailed design and specification but that is more typical of an RfQ (Request for Quotation) An RFP is more likely to solict design and specification details from the responder.
