Optical Time Domain Reflectometer
An instrument that uses backscattered light to characterize a fiber optic link. Such an instrument allows estimating fiber link attenuation, attenuation coefficient, discrete reflections, splice/connector loss, and point defects, all as a function of fiber distance.
