This course is aimed at Partners and End users who wish to support design, implementation and administration of the SYSTIMAX imVision Infrastructure Management system that has evolved from the original iPatch solution. The course also serves as a conversion for those students already qualified in iPatch solution ND5510 to qualify as SYSTIMAX Certified imVision Support Specialist (CISS).
For those students NEW to iPatch/imVision and do NOT possess an up to date and valid ND5510/SP5510R certificate, it is mandatory for you to first complete the GL5554 Pre-qualification module. The nominal fee for this course will be refunded against the purchase of the GL5555 course for the course you pass (NOTE: The refund/discount is for one attempt only, any failed attempts at the GL5554 will not be refunded). Please see the GL5554 pre-qualifier course description for further details.
For those students who DO possess an up to date and valid ND5510/SP5510R certificate, this course serves as a ‘conversion’ from iPatch to imVision qualification. You DO NOT need to take the GL5554 course. You will be offered a discount against the GL5555 course, due to your previous training.
Mandatory Student lab requirement:
By reserving this course you will be confirming your commitment to supply the necessary lab equipment covered in detail in this GL5555 ‘course’, that will include:
- iPatch panels (x 2)
- imVision controller (x1)
- Cabling from switch to iPatch Panel crossconnect scenario
- Cabling between iPatch panel and faceplates to simulate horizontal runs
- Patch cords
To complete the workshop you will need a Cisco 2950 or 2960 switch with 24 copper ports and NO GBICs. Student must have basic knowledge about switch configuration to setup the device IP address, SNMP strings and port VLAN membership.
Suitable server PC:
Memory: 4 GB; Processor: Dual Core / Multi-Core Processor; Disk Space: 1 GB for program installation 30 GB for database, logs, tools, utilities; Display: 1280-1024 resolution, 32-bit color, 14in or larger (recommended); Removable Storage CD-ROM or DVD-ROM; Networking 100/1000 Network Interface Card (NIC). These requirements are checked during installation by System Manager and it will not run if specification is not to required specification.
System Manager supports the following operating systems: Windows Server 2008 (R1 and R2), Windows Server 2003 (SP2), Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate Vista Business and Ultimate (SP2).

The ‘Guided Learning’ GL5555 format enables the student to take this practical course at their own premises and at their own pace with the support of online learning content. Webcast study lessons, Videos, Web page based workshops, Installation and operational pdf documents and SYSTIMAX imVision System Manager Software are provided. The software will be activated by a KEY that will be supplied when the course is confirmed. Please note: that the workshop MUST be completed within 90 days of installation of the software and the software MUST be registered within 30 days of installation. The CIA reserves the right to charge for new keys that would extend this period.
Any level of Pass in the exam style assessment at the end of the GL5555 and also the submission of your workshop report as the 2nd part of that assessment. Notification of your results will be sent to you thereafter.

If you are a member of a CommScope Partner you”ll be entered on the CommScope certification database and a badge is available to you via the Infrastructure Academy App, recognizing the student as qualified as Certified imVision Support Specialist (CISS). BICSI CECs are available for this course, please check the BICSI support document in your resources area for details. Recertification is required within two years using the GL5555R Certified imVision Support Specialist Recertification course.
