This course is suitable for installers, design engineers, project managers, field engineers and anyone who works directly or indirectly with a wide area wireless communications system.
There is no pre-requisite experience required for this course. SP6000 RF Fundamentals will provide you with a sound understanding of RF theory if you do not have any exposure to these wide area communications networks and antenna.
- Learn about the changing usage of wireless networks and understanding how we need to address these issues
- Look at new and emerging technologies that will benefit us in the future
- Understand how we can fine tune our equipment
- Learn about sector load balancing
- Introduce scheduling of sector changes
- Discus (RET) Remote Electrical Tilt of antennas and how we can use our existing RF coaxial cables to control them
- Look at SmartBeam antennas with the different planes of adjustment
- Discover how ANMS Software can help us
We discuss fine tuning antennas to meet the demand we may have, to increase available sectors without increasing footprint. This course addresses those issues by investigating RET (Remote electrical tilt) and by being savvy with this technology, ensuring lower capital expenditure and operating costs but with a higher quality of service.
We will also look at the SmartBeam range of antennas and ANMS software that can help with the day to day organization and utilization of networks.
- Teletilt Agile Systems: This lesson introduces the need for and concept of tilting antennas. The benefits of electrical tilting will be described showing graphically how they work in practice together with the choice of components and the standards involved.
- Smart Beam Antennas: Here we look at Smartbeam antennas and the way that the technology of these can provide real advantages with load balancing, providing better performance and gaining customer satisfaction. The software to enable this process is also discussed, looking at typical scenarios and how it can be used.
You will study this course online in a self- paced format. The course is made up of a number of webcast lessons and online multiple choice assessments giving immediate feedback.
Any level of pass in the overall assessment score.
