This course is designed to benefit Broadband Installers, technicians, field engineers, project managers and those who are interested in pursuing the CommScope Broadband Certified Installers (BCI) Certification.
No pre-requisite knowledge is required for this course although some experience of actual coaxial cable termination and installation would be useful.

- Discuss basic digital signal characteristics and how digital signals are used in cable telecommunications system.
- Identify the components of the hybrid fiber coaxial (HFC) cable system.
- Describe the characteristics of the cables used within the drop system.
- Identify the types of cables used within the drop system.
- Demonstrate proper cable handling, preparation, and connectorization techniques of cables used within the drop system.
- Explain the function and use of interfaces and terminations within the customer’s premises.
- Distinguish passive and active devices within the customer’s premises, and discuss their functions and use.
- Demonstrate the safe and proper use of various hand tools.
- Recognize safe coaxial cable bonding practices in various circumstances.
- Pass the final course assessment.
