A type of single-mode fiber designed to have zero dispersion near 1550 nm. This fiber type is not suitable for DWDM applications, due to its high nonlinearity at the zero-dispersion wavelength. These fibers have been normalized by the ITU as G.653.  A type of optical fiber made to optimize both low dispersion and low attenuation.
